The 65th National Anniversary Celebration cum HKFW Six Arts Concert for the Inauguration of its Orchestra and Choir

The 65th National Anniversary Celebration cum HKFW Six Arts Concert for the Inauguration of its Orchestra and Choir was successfully held at Hong Kong Cultural Centre Concert Hall on 9th September with around 2000 guests attending. We were honored to have the presence of Mrs. Regina Leung, Madam Yin Xiaojing, Dr. the Hon. Ko Wing Man and the Hon. Mr. Ma Fung-kwok as our officiating guests.

The concert marked the inauguration of the HKFW Six Arts and we are honored to invite Ms. Nancy Loo, a renowned pianist, to perform "Caprice on the Moonlight over Spring River (arranged by Mr. Doming Lam)", which is a premiere in Hong Kong, and jointly perform with Six Arts Orchestra. And it is also our honor to have Ms. Barbara Fei conducting HKFW Six Arts Choir to perform famous Chinese and English folk songs and with the theme of "the Songs of Flowers".

In her welcoming speech, Chairperson Dr. Peggy Lam expressed her gratitude to all the guests who participated in the celebration of National Day and witnessed the inauguration of the HKFW Six Arts Orchestra and Choir. Also, one of the objectives of the concert is to raise fund for the newly established HKFW Six Arts Charity Trust. With the support of the Trust, the Six Arts Orchestra is endeavored to serve the Hong Kong community through outreach concerts and promote talented local female musicians. Going forward, HKFW is dedicated to promote the development of other areas of "Six Arts" which cover Literary Arts, Film and Television Arts, Performing Arts, Visual Arts and Physical Arts.
