Since the return of sovereignty of Hong Kong to China 15 years ago, the Government of the Hong Kong Special Administration Region has successfully materialized the concepts of ˇ§One Country Two Systemsˇ¨; ˇ§Hong Kong People Governing Hong Kongˇ¨ and ˇ§High Degree of Autonomyˇ¨. These accomplishments have warranted international praises. In spite of having to face numerous challenges, the people of Hong Kong overcome them with courage and confidence and has thus achieved outstanding results, be it in the political, economical, educational , livelihood, people or social arenas. This has exactly justified what our ex-CEO Mr. Donald Tsang had said, that the People of Hong Kong had put an end to the doubts set off in History by the return of Hong Kongˇ¦s return to China by their extraordinary determination and pragmatic achievements. In 1997, the Hong Kong Federation of Women (HKFW) initiated and liaised with women organizations in Hong Kong to jointly present 7 major activities in the celebration of the return of Hong Kong to the sovereignty of China. In the years 2002 and 2007, HKFW and the women organizations banded together to produce respectively a Cultural Night; a Harmonious Family Drive and another Cultural Evening to celebrate the 5th and 10th Anniversary of HKSAR. This year, HKFW once again led over 160 women organizations to jointly present two major activities in the celebration of the 15th Anniversary of HKSAR. This included a Multi-Cultural Interflow with the theme of having different cultural groups coming harmoniously together to celebrate and enjoy the 15th Anniversary, and a Hong Kong Women Celebrating the 15th Anniversary of HKSAR Concert.Both activities were successful, having received good response and active participation by Government official, Ambassadors and the public who joined our members in sharing the joy of the 15th Anniversary of the HKSAR.
