HKFW -- Youth Leadership Training Programme
Foreword
At the 21st century, economy is knowledge-based and competition is global and keen. On account of this, the grooming of our youth as leaders of to-morrow to take up social and political responsibilities of our society becomes an important and urgent need. Through systematic and versatile training, Hong Kong Federation of Women (HKFW) takes an active role in training young female leaders of to-morrow, developing their talents and building up their strengths and ability so as to lead the society of Hong Kong towards further improvement and substantial development.
Objectives
- Nurturing young female leaders to become deeply rooted in Hong Kong; to cultivate in them the sense of belonging to Hong Kong and China and to broaden their international scope of vision.
- Encouraging young women to be concerned with our community and to render their services towards its well- being.
- Liaising with youth organizations from Hong Kong , the Mainland and overseas for the enhancement of cultural exchange.
Entry Requirements
- Participants must be young women under 30 years of age and proficient in Chinese and English, either working or pursuing tertiary education in Hong Kong .
- Applicants should submit together with the application form an essay (no more than 500 words) in either Chinese or English on the topics of !ĦħMy Expectations on Young Women Leadership Training Programme!ĦL or !ĦħMy Ambition for our Society!ĦL. Application form must be submitted to HKFW on or before April 30, 2005.
Selection and Programme Fee
- Members of the Youth Leaders Sub-Committee of HKFW will form a selection committee for selection purpose.
- Priority of acceptance will be given to those applicants recommended by members of the Council, the Youth Leaders Sub-Committee and the Entrepreneurs Committee of HKFW; or by school signatories and current employers.
- The training programme is free of charge. However, a deposit of HK$500 is required. This amount will be refunded to trainees who have satisfied the minimum attendance requirement of 80% of the programme and have shown commendable attitude at the training sessions.

Awards
- A study tour to the Mainland will be arranged. Interviews with national leaders of China , visit and exchange with the All-China Women Federation and other women and youth organizations will be arranged.
- In completion of the training, those having completed the training programme with attendance of not less than 80%, will be issued a certificate listing all the training courses attended.
- Those with excellent and outstanding results and commendable attitudes will be presented the !ĦħEager Participation!ĦL, !ĦħOutstanding Performance!ĦL, !ĦħThe Best Proposal Writing!ĦL awards.
- They will be invited to join the !ĦħHKFW!XYouth Leaders Working Group!ĦL to further enhance their leadership skills and qualities.
